Now I have my space at home, a lovely new studio, a little wooden shed out on our terrace made by my husband :), in this weather it’s a little cold so I asked Santa for a pair of gloves! Still needs a bit of organizing but slowly but surely it will all come together.
Going back over my past work my aim was to try a new path but my thoughts continue with the cracks, so I guess I haven’t finished investigating them. However, after visiting the artist José Manuel Martínez Pérez’ studio and seeing his wonderful work, his drawings of the human figure with such amazing detail of bone structure and muscles, these incredible drawings come across as very lifelike, I feel the need to sketch. The most astonishing pieces that I felt more engaged with were the sculptures, how he first sculpts in clay, from that he takes his moulds and then reproduces the sculpture in various other mediums for example bronze. Since then I began to practice my own figure drawing by going back to the basics and starting with a study of feet and another of hands. Where this will take me who knows, but it’s fun!
Ahora tengo mi espacio en casa, un estudio nuevo y encantador, un pequeño cobertizo de madera en nuestra terraza hecho por mi esposo :), en estos meses ya va haciendo frío, ¡así que pedí a Papa Noel unos guantes! Todavía necesita un poco de organización, pero de manera lenta pero segura, todo se irá colocando.
Volviendo a mi trabajo anterior, mi objetivo era probar un nuevo camino, pero mis pensamientos continuaron con las grietas, por lo que deduzco que no he terminado de investigarlas. Sin embargo, después de visitar el estudio del artista José Manuel Martínez Pérez y ver sus maravillosas figuras, sus dibujos complejos, detallados y asombrosos del cuerpo humano con sorprendentes detalles de los huesos y los músculos, es increíble como los dibujos parecen reales tengo ganas de dibujar. Las piezas más asombrosas con las que me sentí más conectada fueron las esculturas, que esculpe primero en arcilla, de ahí toma sus moldes y luego reproduce en varios materiales, por ejemplo, en bronce. Desde entonces he comenzado a practicar mi propio dibujo de figuras volviendo a lo básico y comenzando con un estudio de pies y luego de manos. ¡No sé a dónde me llevará esto, pero de momento es divertido!
